Baking at home why you should!

Baking cakes, cookies, bread, and pies at home can be a joy for many people. It is one of the most involved tasks in the kitchen.

Below are some of the benefits of baking at home:
  • It is cheaper than buying specialty baked goods from a bakery or grocery store
  • There are endless combinations to choose from when it comes to ingredients
  • It is healthier than eating store-bought products because you know all the ingredients
  • And you can customize them any way you want!

How to make a cheesecake at home?

First, place the rack in the middle position, preheat the oven to 180 °C (350 °F). In a bowl, combine the rolled oats, brown sugar, maple syrup, and butter. Secondly, spread onto the bottom of an (8-inch) springform pan and press lightly. Bake for 15 minutes. Let it cool.

Time for the filling, in a bowl, beat the cream cheese, sugar, and flour with an electric mixer or a stand mixer. Add the vanilla yogurt and eggs. Blend well and pour over the crust. Bake for about 1 hour. Chill before serving the cake with a fruit coulis or maple syrup.

Lastly, if you want to eat with a fruit coulis (sauce), in a food processor, purée the fruit until smooth. Sweeten to taste and pass through a sieve, if necessary, to remove the seeds.
