This orange cake with chocolate ganache recipe is simple, but in order to get a moist cake, you must follow the steps carefully. You can eat this cake with or without the Chocolate Ganache, it is up to you.

How to cook an Orange Cake with Chocolate Ganache

Place the rack in the center of the oven. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Butter and line a 10 x 4-inch bread pan with a strip of parchment paper, leaving it hanging over both sides. In a bowl, combine the flour and baking powder. Set aside. In another bowl, cream the butter with the sugar and the orange zest with an electric mixer or a stand mixer. Add the eggs, one at a time, until the mixture is smooth. In a small bowl, combine the lemon juice and the milk. At low speed, add the dry ingredients alternating with the milk mixture. Pour the dough into the lined pan. Bake for 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean. Cover the cake with the chocolate ganache.

How to make the easiest Chocolate Ganache

In a bowl, place the chocolate. Set aside. In a saucepan, bring the cream and the maple syrup to a boil. Pour the cream mixture over the chocolate and let it melt for 2 minutes without stirring. With a spatula, mix the ganache until the texture is homogeneous. Add the melted butter and stir until everything is melted. Allow to cool for 2 hours at room temperature or until ganache is spreadable. Perfect for simple cake or even on your toats in the morning!

Ingredients

Chocolate Ganache

  • 200 g semi-sweet chocolate (chopped)
  • 3/4 cup 35% cream
  • 4 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (softened)

  • 2 cups unbleached flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 orange zest
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup milk
