During winter it is difficult to find fresh and affordable vegetables, but these roasted Beets and Carrots salad are ideal. Pack with a lot of antioxidants and vitamins. You can find these vegetables at any grocery, and they are really affordable.
To my opinion, the best tasting pear is the one you can find in those little snack can of fruits salads. Do you remember? My mom used to pack one in my lunch for school. In those little cans, you could find the best pear ever! They are soft, not too grainy in the mouth, they have plenty of juice and most importantly they are sweet!
It is good for those who have rheumatism, arthritis or any joint pains. It is also very good to keep very good looking skin and help the skin healing. I can say it is true! When my son was born, he had major diaper rash condition, to which we tried different cream without any success until we found this cream which smells like cod liver oil and in less than one day is bummy was like brand new! Bok choy means “small white vegetables”. They are part of the Brassicaceae family. It is a leafy small kind of cabbage. They become tender when you cooked them. We affectionately call them baby bok choy!
Tonight is Raclette night. I love Raclette! Why? Because it is a cornerstone of a relaxing family dinner! You have to take your time to eat, wait for your cheese to melt before you can enjoy your next bite. Also, I like Raclette night because I can give it a theme! So tonight’s theme is Belgium … more or less 🙂 I was lucky to find fresh Brussels sprouts on a stalk in our local store today. Usually, they are packaged in a small box, and then they are often dry. When you buy them on a stalk, they have more juice, and I find they taste less bitter. So, with Brussels sprouts and some Belgian beer, our Raclette night got a new theme!
Beets! I just love beets: in homemade juices, in soups, in salads and even as a food colorant to make the pink frosting on cupcakes. They are sweet, beautiful and very good for our health! This Russian beet salad recipe was given to me by my father-in-law, and I make this salad every week starting in late fall until the end of winter. That’s when the beets taste the best!
