Tips and Tricks, all about Spinach
Spinach is not only good for your health but it is so easy to incorporate it into any recipes. Here a few tips and tricks about spinach. If you want to eat them raw, make sure to soak them into the water in order to remove any dirt. After you have soaked the leaves for about 5 minutes, put them into a colander and run the water again on it to make sure that no dirt is on the leaves. At this point, you can either use a salad spinner to drain all the water from the leaves. If however, you don’t have a salad spinner, you can just spread the leaves onto a clean cloth and roll the cloth onto itself, that way you should drain most of the water by squeezing the leaves into the cloth.
If you want to cook your spinach, the best way is to clean the leaves before and then pour the leaves into a shallow skillet. You don’t need to add water or oil. Cook the leaves slowly into the skillet until all leaves have become dark green and really soft. When that is done, pour all the cook leaves into a colander, that you previously covered with a clean cloth. Some of the water of the spinach will drain through the cloth, but to drain the rest of the water you must wait about 5 minutes for the leaves to cool down. When they cooled, lift each side of the cloth, keeping the spinach into the middle of the cloth and squeeze as hard as you can in order to drain the water from the spinach. Now you can use this cooked spinach into many recipes.
